Richard Thomas Scott is a contemporary figurative artist, known for his classical paintings and writings on aesthetic theory. He has been selected as one of the “25 artists of tomorrow” by the American Artist Magazine.

Known for his contemporary classical paintings and writings on aesthetic theory, he has worked as a coin and medal designer for the United States Mint, previously collaborated with Jeff Koons, and served as a studio assistant to Odd Nerdrum. His paintings are exhibited throughout Europe and North America, notably at The National Arts Club in New York, Le Grand Palais in Paris, and Palazzo Cini in Venice. His works are also held in private and public collections, including acquisitions by former British Minister of the Arts Alan Howarth, the Austrian embassy in Oslo, Prince Morad El Hattab, and Robert C. Kennedy Ph.D. His artwork has been auctioned by Sotheby’s and Phillips de Pury & Co. Scott has contributed extensively to print, cinema, and radio. Selected as one of the “25 artists of tomorrow” by the American Artist Magazine, Scott has written essays for American Arts Quarterly and served as an author for The Nerdrum School, published by Arvinius + Orfeus in November 2013. He resides in Connecticut and works between New York and Paris.
